Silver Stars Lunch and Lunch hosted by Tanner Investment Group

Over 40 retirees, TCH Investors and Silver Star Members gathered together for this informative lunch and learn. Susan Bowden, Executive Director of Hospice of South Georgia and Langdale Hospice House, welcomed the audience and introduced the speaker of the hour, John Tanner, of Tanner Investment Group. John Tanner presented a great power point on Investment Scams and Identity Theft Among Seniors. Every year nearly 25 million Americans fall victim to consumer fraud according to the FTC. Unfortunately, senior citizens are one of the primary targets for these thieves and con artists. With identify theft and fraud on the rise, it’s important for you to know how to protect you and your family.

After we heard about the importance of Identity Theft, Jane Shelton of South Georgia Travel gave some information about a fun one day trip coming up on December 15. And then, Greg Reid of Edward Jones provided some fun while calling out a few games of bingo, with some great door prizes that were donated by the Triple Crown Hometowns Investors.

Lastly, John LaHood of Fellowship Homes at Brookside, shared information about the upcoming Centennial Gala, Centennial Tree project and our Chamber Silver Stars.

A great time was had by all and everyone enjoyed the food, fellowship and presentations. The next lunch and learn is planned for October 23.
